Hly Innocents church was built ca. 1895 as a Chapel of EaseA daughter church within an ecclesiastical Parish, or a chapel in an outlying area of the parish that is more convenient for parishioners to attend to South Norwood St. Mark and became a separate ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England in 1949.

There are no graveyards at Holy Innocents church nor at St. Mark's church.

Earlier burials may have taken place at Croydon St. John the Baptist which was the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions church or at Upper Norwood All Saints.

WSFHS CD15(Surrey Baptisms Not in the IGI) has baptismal records for Croydon St. John the Baptist from 1538 to 1720, 1765 to 1799 and 1859 to 1876.
